Drawing on the colour palette from the surrounding Trans Pennine Trail and beautiful textures straight from nature.

We were thrilled when Hoober Homes invited Nestled to design the show home for their latest development, Pennine Mills in Worsbrough, Barnsley. This project was particularly special to us because it’s right on our doorstep—the very place where Nestled’s roots are and where our family lives.
Having a project so close to home that holds such personal meaning is a rare joy. These are the trails we walk as a family, the paths where our four-year-old learnt to ride his bike, and the spots where we’ve enjoyed many picnics. From spotting kingfishers to feeding the ducks at Worsbrough Mill, this landscape is part of our daily lives.
The Cantley show home was envisioned to showcase the flexibility and growth potential of a two-bedroom property. We focused on creating a space that feels both lived-in and adaptable, reflecting the evolving needs of modern homeowners.
Our design palette draws direct inspiration from the surrounding Trans Pennine Trail. We’ve layered the home with natural textures that nod to the local woodland. Details such as bark like embroidered fabrics for curtains, mossy textured upholsterey and wallpapers that evoke the feeling of standing beneath a canopy of trees.
One of our favourite spaces is the nursery, which was inspired by the wildlife and heritage of Worsbrough Mill. The hand painted mural of flying swans by artist Amy Lipscombe is the rooms center piece and adds so much charm. It really is a perfect example of how we combine sustainability with a curated, collected feel to create homes that truly tell a story.
