‘The Orkney’ Named Finalist for Show Home of the Year

Finalists have been chosen across 21 categories for the 2026 Scottish Home Awards, following a rigorous judging session where industry experts reviewed over 115 entries from across the nation. This shortlist highlights the pinnacle of excellence within Scotland's homebuilding industry.

Nestled was thrilled to be commissioned by Keepmoat Homes to design and furnish three show homes at their Stoneyburn site. We are especially proud to celebrate with the Keepmoat Homes team as "The Orkney" has been recognised as a finalist for The Show Home of the Year award.

Our vision for this four-bedroom home was to develop an inspiring and sophisticated scheme tailored for a modern family. For a curated, timeless aesthetic, we integrated deep chocolate hues with warm timber and bold black accents.

The Lounge was designed to function as both a family space and a formal area. Against the abstract metallic wallpaper, a large boxy seating area with beautiful seam detailing. The angular velvet occasional chair and oversized floor lamp with integrated side table is the perfect spot for a quiet moment.

We created a moody space in the Study with chocolate ceiling banding and metallic wallpaper as the back drop to metal shelving and a rich mango desk. For styling we incorporated elements from the Mull and Kilda show home. Using fabric, wallpaper samples and emulsion swatches were curated large mood boards, offering viewers an insight into some of the design process behind the schemes.

In the Primary bedroom the striking organic curved headboard holds its own and creates a flow across the main feature wall. Textured golden patina bedside cabinets flank either side with oversized amber glass table lamps.

The children's room is full of sunshine and playfulness. Buttery yellow emulsion and golden sun wallpaper keeps everything fresh and bright. The arched rattan headboard is whimsical and coordinates with the other light wood finishes in the space. The giant giraffe and over sized wooden ruler height chart make even the adults feel child sized.

It is wonderful to see this design approach recognised on such a prestigious shortlist, and we are excited for the results on the 18th June. Fingers crossed!
